The Health Care Assistants are available Monday to Friday. They work closely with the nursing staff to provide this service.
Nurse Advisor
A Nurse Advisor is available Monday to Friday. The Nurse Advisor can help with many of your queries such as advice about treating minor illnesses or injuries such as sore throats, earache, hay-fever, cystitis, rashes, emergency contraception, etc.
Please ask to speak to the Nurse Advisor if you are unsure which health care professional can deal with your problem, and you will be directed to the most appropriate person.
Advice regarding medication the doctor has prescribed or you have bought can be given by the Nurse Advisor.
Health Visitors
Health Visitors give advice on healthcare mainly to the under fives and their families. They carry out regular checks on the under fives. The Health Visitors can be contacted on their direct number 746820 and a message can be left on the answer machine in their absence.
A Child Health Clinic is held by the Health Visitors at the Fleet Community Centre, Fletton on Wednesday mornings. A Post Natal Support Group is held at the Stanground Community Centre, Whittlesey Road on Monday mornings.
Community Nurses
The team of Community Nurses can be contacted by leaving a message with the receptionist. Community Nurses deal with all aspects of nursing to patients who are not able to attend the surgery and provide a 24 hour nursing service.
Community Midwife
We have midwives who are attached to the Surgery. They run antenatal clinics each week in the surgery and also visit mothers at home regularly in the days following a birth.
Dietician
A Dietician visits the surgery on some Tuesdays and gives specialist advice to diabetic patients who have been referred by their Doctor.
Physiotherapist
A Community Physiotherapist treats patients in the surgery who have been referred by the Doctor. Physiotherapy may also be carried out at home where necessary for clinical reasons.
Counsellor
A Counsellor is available at the Surgery by appointment following referral from the Doctor.
